Development program
Texas A&M Baja started as a development path for the Formula team. We're building a program of our own that takes students with zero shop experience and turns them into engineers who can design, make, and race real parts.

Why we're building it
Most new members want to build something on day one but don't know where to start. The program gives every new member a clear path from their first meeting to owning a part on the car.
It also gives our sponsors a stronger talent pipeline. Every student who comes through it leaves with hands-on design, machining, and teamwork experience.
The path
From first meeting to the car
01
Get in the shop
Shop safety, hand and power tools, and the training needed to work in the Fischer Engineering Design Center.
02
Learn the tools
CAD, drawings, and basic analysis, taught by current members using real parts from past cars.
03
Build a starter project
Small teams design and make a real component with a mentor from a subteam.
04
Join a subteam
Pick the subteam that fits, from chassis to business, and start contributing to the next car.
Join the team
Open to every major and class year, engineering or business. Applications run through Texas A&M SAE.
Support it instead?
Sponsors and donors keep the shop running and the program free for students.
